The Maine Beaches region is steeped in arts and culture! Whether you are looking to take in a play, a concert in the park, a museum or a movie (including Southern Maine's only drive in movie theater), you’ll find it here! A sampling of the 2011 season in playhouses around the area saw productions of Miss Saigon, The 39 Steps, The Wizard of Oz and Legally Blond featuring Sally Struthers. Museums in the region featured exhibits on the Civil War, local textiles and art collections ranging from American Modernist to Realism. 

Local art associations and art events provide visitors with an up close and personal glimpse of works (ranging from paintings and sculptures to jewelry and crafts) from artists who call Southern Maine home, and many times, a chance to meet the artist themselves!
